Dr Reason asks.......

Is it me, or do SOME females just seem confused? Why is it that they want a gangsta and a gentlemen(Styles P wasn't referring to relationships)? Ladies you want a dude that sells drugs and is not afraid to do time, take a life and anything in between. And you expect this same dude, the very same guy to treat you like a princess?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!??!!?!?!?!?!?!!? Does this seem strange to anyone else? Or am i making the fatal mistake by using logic to define emotion? Let me know something.

  1. Dr. Reason, I think it depends. There are some people that can be a full on, so-called menace to society AND treat their women with respect. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get by. I think the bigger problems are the ones that they know that "Ain't shit, ain't never been shit, and ain't trying to be be shit", but yet they still expect them to change. THOSE are the ones they need to worry about it. The ones that EMBRACE the thug lifestyle on some ole "I watch too much BET" type shit.

Look at the old school gangstERS(not gangstas). These dudes used to dress up in suits, handle their shit like businessmen, and STILL handle business in the streets when it came down to it. You've got too many these days trying to be gangstas for gangstas sake. They want the image. It's not about the business aspect. They want to live like something they ARE NOT. And that is REAL. You can be true to yourself, be a gangster, AND be real. Those don't always tie in together.

Going to school and holding down a job you don't want to work is gangsta. Treating your family and friends with respect is gangsta. Treating your girl like she is a queen even if you don't feel like it is gangsta. Being REAL is the true test. If you can be you around ANYBODY then you are a gangsta. If you have to ACT a certain way in front of certain people that's not gangsta. That's fake as hell. I respect the COMPUTER GEEK that acts like a COMPUTER GEEK a billion times more than I respect the FAKE that has to act 'gangsta'. If the dude is not shit period, he's just not shit. Women need to recognize this.

  2. Thats absolutely true Dr. Cel, there are way too many people out in the world that need to develop a identity based on things they see others do. Growing up my father didn't teach me much be he did teach me to be my own man and to be a leader. Thats why i never understood why people follow others, but to keep the conversation relationship related i'll say this. Women or men for that matter who go after a image when they go for a significant other better be prepared for what comes with it. If u want a TRUE thug don't be mad when he one beats ya ass or two haves u muling round town. If you don't know what a mule is kill ya self.

Anyway my beef with this discussion is that i hear stories of woman who date questionable men and then get mad when his business or his lifestyle results in negative actions on them. I often look at victims as people who knew better before even entering into the relationship. If you didn't why are you getting into a relationship wit someone u don't know...kill ya self.

Thinking you can change someone....kill ya self...

People show you who they are its up to you to decide whether or not you want to see it........one more time.............KILL YA SELF.

  3. Now i aint gonna act like i got females all figured out because nobody does (even females dont know). But from what i see throughout most cultures, females always run to the THRILL. Females are emotional creatures, so they want the Emotional Rollercoaster dude. He has to open her up to a new world, be a teacher, but then be a loose cannon, smash ya good, & still keep her at the edge of seat n' give off the vibe that if she fuks up ONCE he'll replace her ass asap.

Every culture has its "the thrill/emotional rollercoaster" dude. The Meathead(Italians), The Jock/Douchebag(White people), Emo Guy (Goth, alt Rock crowd). The baller/thug/gangsta character type just happens to be "the thrill/emotional rollercoaster" to young black women in america. Which is very unfortunate, because it sometimes delves into the criminal world. So you have look like a criminal, or do criminal activity to attract women.

  4. Dr. Reason~Very true. I do think there is a difference between a gangster and a thug. It seems like popular culture intertwined the two and they became synonyms. I totally agree that if a woman wants a TRUE thug, she's gonna be in for a WORLD of hurt because generally, THEY DON'T GIVE A FLYING F*CK about sh*t. Those are the chicks wondering why they end up doing a 5 to 10 on some dumb sh*t. People really don't think when it comes to relationships.

    101~True. It's sad.

  5. Women want men. Manly men. Point blank. The problem is what females perceive as a "real man". If that issue is really resolved and clearly stated to EVERYONE, then we wouldn't be having this discussion at all.

  6. Dr. Wallbanger~True words. And to add onto that, you actually have some women that want a weak @$$, "mamby pamby-land" guy that they can run over. Somehow the "man" got lost in there and now they see the ultimate (although false) interpretation of a "man" in the baller/thug/gangsta persona (A LOT of those cats are straight p*ssy "mamby pamby-land" guys themselves).
